Community Coalition Courses

Phase I

This course teaches the fundamentals of organizing a community coalition. Participants are introduced to the theory of risk and protective factors, and begin to build, or build upon, the foundation of an effective coalition.

Collectively, class members start to formulate a vision, plan, and comprehensive strategy in order to assist their communities and state.

Phase II

This course furthers the vision of a coalition and builds upon previous training. Participants examine the current state of their community, and further their knowledge, in order to assess, evaluate, refine, and sustain current coalition initiatives.

Together, class members will refine the vision and mission of their coalition in order to enhance programs and strategies already existing in their communities and state.

A day of map reading and land navigation is included as a team building activity.
